Description

Make soft and delicious chocolate chip cookies without brown sugar using simple ingredients like white sugar, butter, flour, egg, and chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add softened butter and white sugar.
  3. Mix them well until the mixture becomes light and creamy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla essence, then mix again until everything is combined.
  5. Add all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Mix gently until a soft cookie dough forms. Do not overmix the dough.
  7. Add chocolate chips and fold them into the dough.
  8. Take small portions of dough and make cookie balls.
  9. Place them on the baking tray with some space between each cookie.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges look lightly golden.
  11. Remove from the oven and let the cookies rest on the tray for 5 minutes.
  12. Transfer them to a cooling rack and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
  1. Heat / Temperature

    Oven Temperature: 180°C / 350°F

Bake the cookies on the middle rack. Do not overbake them, because they will continue to set after coming out of the oven. For soft cookies, remove them when the edges are golden but the center still looks slightly soft.

Note

If you want softer cookies, do not bake them for too long. White sugar makes cookies slightly crispier than brown sugar, but butter and proper baking time help keep them soft from the inside. You can also chill the dough for 15–20 minutes if you want thicker cookies.
