Certain recipes get incorporated into your regular dinner routine without you even realizing it, and Ground Beef Stroganoff is one of them in my kitchen. If I have busy evenings and everyone is hungry, if the day has been long and I still want to provide something warm, homemade and satisfying, then I always choose this recipe.
I first prepared this version of beef stroganoff since the traditional steak stroganoff appeared to need a lot of time and ingredients. Using ground beef made a great difference since it cooked quickly, absorbed all of the creamy mushroom flavours and resulted in a sauce which had the taste of having simmered for hours. This simple recipe for Ground Beef Stroganoff is perfect for use as a weeknight meal, for mealprepping, or when you want to enjoy traditional comfort food without spending a lot of money.
Why This Ground Beef Stroganoff Works
The success of this recipe depends on finding a balance between simple ingredients and strong flavour. Ground beef gives it a solid foundation while mushrooms add an earthy richness that makes the sauce traditional. The onions, garlic, browned beef, broth and sour cream combine to create a smooth and creamy finish. This recipe is flexible, easy to customize and perfect for busy nights
